About Lou Dillon
Few people know about the joys of mountain living as intimately as Lou.
Originally hailing from the craggy, high alpine slopes of world famous Jackson
Hole, with it's black diamond, above-the-tree-line ski runs and toney
gentlemen farms in the valley below, Lou eventually made her way to the deep
green steeps of North Idaho and found here an unspoiled, secret stash of
powder snow as fabulous as any in the west but still virtually unknown. Rising
above one of the world's most pristine freshwater lakes, the area proved
itself to be a place like no other. Schweitzer as a ski mountain was just
beginning to develop and Sandpoint had not a stop light when the Dillons
settled down on a homestead outside of Oldtown. Reveling in the area's
myriad recreational opportunities while raising their son, Bryan, through all
the subsequent years, Lou, was a constant presence on the ski hill, holding a
variety of jobs and eventually running the Kindercamp program for Schweitzer
Mountain. During this time the family's love of their lifelong sport began to
shine through in young Bryan, who started winning lots of junior races and even
preparing for a spot on the US Olympic Team.

But
it was a decision nearly ten years ago that really defined Lou's love of and
commitment to true mountain living and the reason her knowledge of it's
virtues rings so sincere. Lou and her husband Gene moved right up to the edge of the
slopes to live year round nestled on a ridge just below the crest of the Selkirk range. They designed and built their own home, a structure that
fits in well with the towering spruce and alpine firs which surround
them. Their own private retreat looks out on a bustling resort in the midst of
a multi million dollar expansion plan with brand new lodging and a lively
meandering village taking shape. Shops and restaurants, new services and activities make life up at altitude more amenable every day. And with a recent
series of glowing reports in numerous national industry publications, the best
kept secret in the west has become a hot new destination among ski
aficionados, a perfect place to get away from crowds and big cities while
exploring some of the most varied and accessible terrain in the country. A lot
has changed since Lou's early days overseeing Kindercampers. She is now one of the top producing agents in the region handling the finest luxury homes on the hill. But what has never
changed is that insatiable love of the lifestyle she represents. Lou can tell
you honestly everything about being on the mountain because that's her own
life, everyday. You'll discover Lou's view from the top is one-of-a-kind, but
she's happy to share it with anyone who asks. You can have all those years of
hard won knowledge right at your fingertips too, ready to assist you in
finding your own perfect piece of the glorious gem state. Just pick up the
phone. It's that easy.
